USEF
Lendon’s role in the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF)—our country’s National Governing Body for Equestrian Sport—has been extensive and varied. She has served on the Legislative, Planning, Rules, Breeders, Show Management, Arabian, Youth Sports, and Strategic Planning Committees, aside from her considerable involvement in the Dressage Committee. She was Chairman of Dressage Seat Equitation from 2000-2005, and again in 2008, co-founding the Dressage Seat Medal Finals. She was also the Founding Chair of the Pony Sub-Committee, reinforcing her dedication to and support of ponies as competitive dressage mounts.
The USEF seeks to unite the equestrian community, honor achievement, and serve as guardian to all equestrian disciplines. Formed in 1917, the USEF trains, selects, and funds the US Equestrian Team which successfully represents the US at the highest levels of international competition, including the Olympic Games. The USEF is responsible for promoting growth in equestrian sports and providing a safe and level playing field for both equine and human athletes. To this end, it is the licensing body for competitions of all levels across the US each year. The USEF also serves to protect equine welfare in cases of crisis situations and natural disasters, as well as in daily competition.
Further information on the USEF and its subsidiaries can be found at its website, usef.org.
